Casa-Susanna-Dinner

A new musical comedy in development, inspired by a true story

Book by Erik Forrest Jackson

Music & Lyrics by Matthew Doers

In 1959, in the tiny Catskills town of Hunter, New York, a group of men create an extraordinary private retreat where they can explore just being ordinary… women. When the old-guard neighbors discover what Susanna (aka Vito) Valenti and her guests are up to, they turn to the authorities to stop their faux-feminine ways. But the “girls” discover a fortuitous loophole: the law is on their side if they are professional female impersonators. Forced to fight back, the normally private Susanna and her gang of gals decide to go pubic and invite the curious townies to a hastily concocted theatrical spectacular. But their increasingly threatening adversaries have a different type of drama in mind…
