Smart Housekeeping columnist Liz Lane is America’s authority on marriage, cooking and idyllic country life. In reality, she is single, lives in a tiny New York apartment and can’t cook. When her publisher invites a returning war hero—and devoted reader—to spend Christmas at her fictional Connecticut farmhouse, Liz has to manufacture the perfect home and husband in time for the holidays, without letting anyone discover the woman behind the column.
