Misty Riggs is tired of being nobody. A perpetual new girl with little money and even less social status, she becomes convinced that the fastest way to matter is to go viral.

When her best friend Alix begins a relationship with gender-nonconforming classmate Jacey, Misty sees an opportunity. She appoints herself his public champion and launches a social-media campaign in his name—whether he wants one or not. As attention turns into influence, Misty’s hunger to be seen begins reshaping the lives of everyone around her.

A darkly comic play about attention, identity and the dangerous distance between helping someone and using them, Like a Billion Likes received its world premiere at Stage West in 2018.
